Mariposa County Teachers' Association Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Anne Dolchanczyk this 21st day of October at 4:10pm.
A reminder was given about the Board member retirement dinner.
August minutes read by Joan Link. On motion by Tolladay, seconded by Laura-Lynn, the minutes were accepted.
Discussion on Disability Insurance.
Discussion on new insurance plan.
Discussion on email list - teacher distribution list is different from the classified list.
Treasurer report from Sandy Wice to be given at a later date.
Lengthy discussion on political candidate endorsement, letters to the editor, process of communication, having our own candidate night, supporting our MCTA president, CTA materials for training and support.
Slate for board elections: President - Anne Dolchancczyk Vice president - Marlene Miller Secretary - Debra Vittore Elections held. Move to accept made by Barbara Hamilton. Seconded by Linda Tolladay.
Discussion on deunification of the district.
New board members will have CTA budget training.
Announcement of new MCTA web site.
Discussion on facts that there are district contracts for years '02-'03, '03-'04, but none for '04-'05.
Announcement by Diana Terra about Caesar Chavez Scholarship Fund.
CTA announcement that there is no more state standardized testing for 2nd graders.
Suggestions made: Announce at staff meeting that a 5 minute MCTA meeting will follow for updates. Sign up for board meeting for a better representation. PAC will continue communication with board members. Discussion on how best to do so.
Discussion on Brown Act.
Discussion on substitute pay for conferences.
Discussion on Fire Days.
Discussion on salaries and contracts.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:10pm.
